FINE FURNISHINGS COMMITTEE
This committee is involved in selecting and purchasing interior furniture and other historic items for the manor house. They help stage the 40 rooms of the home based on their original uses by the Stewart family. Funding for these projects comes from donations, our members, sponsors, and fundraising events.

HOUSE TOUR DOCENT
Take visitors on a guided tour through the manor house; talk about the building, the Stewart family who lived in the house, and history of the property. This may be done in conjunction with staffing the visitor center. May also be needed for special requests. Work one Sunday per month or as your schedule permits. Tours start in May and run until the 4th Sunday in September. Training is provided.

MEMBERSHIP
This committee works with the Chair to continually build our membership, volunteers, and friends of the association. Ideas are always welcome with new ways to reach out to the public.

MARKETING
For those of you with writing, graphic design, web and social media skills. Volunteers help design flyers, posters and update our website, and email designs. We always in need those who have the ability for generating press releases.

HISTORIC GARDEN RESTORATION
Volunteers interested in gardening are encouraged to help with this major ongoing project. The original rock garden, designed by Warren Manning a landscape architect for the Stewart family, is being uncovered and replanted according to the original design. This is an outside activity which lets you get dirty. Digging, planting, moving materials, and mulching are some of the activities done by this group.

THE STEWART FAMILY LIVING ROOM ALL DECKED OUT FOR 2023 “WELCOME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
During the course of the year we hold major fundraising events for the community. We are always looking for ideas and chairpersons to keep these events current and growing, not only a fundraising effort but lots of fun for our volunteers and attendees. Our holiday programs are one of the best and require a great deal of planning and effort, both inside and outside of all the buildings. and These events require the help of all available volunteers in the areas of planning, setup, staffing, and cleanup. Opportunities are available for greeting the public on event nights.

Mrs Stewart’s Neat and Tidy Team
For those people who love to see things kept “neat, tidy”, clean, and in order, the Manor House is waiting for you! QHVA maintains select rooms in the home. We provide all the the supplies and equipment needed for volunteers to do their jobs. Team up with a buddy to vacuum and dust on a day and time that fits your schedule.
